Rob Young
Media Director
Rob proudly attended Bowling Green and graduated with a BSBA in Marketing in 1989. He began his career as an intern with the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team and after one playoff-caliber season he realized his true calling was to work in an agency environment. Rob called Wyse Advertising, Cleveland, home for seven years where he served as a media planning strategist on such clients as Applebee’s restaurants, The J.M. Smucker Company and Stouffer (now Renaissance) Hotels and Resorts.
Rob’s experiences also include managing all media planning and execution for recognized brands such as Pennzoil and Quaker State Motor Oils, Lennox, Chili’s and Macaroni Grill restaurants while at southwest powerhouse, GSD&M in Austin, TX. In addition to these responsibilities he was active in numerous internal management committees and successful new business pitches.
He also served a number of years at Leo Burnett/Starcom Worldwide in Chicago as Associate Media Director on the prestigious Kellogg’s (Pop-Tarts, Nutri-Grain, Eggo) and Keebler accounts. Rob’s duties included managing and encouraging innovation among a team of 12 talented media planners and supervisors.
Lovers of the mountains, rivers and anything outdoors, Rob and Gavin (his lovely fiancé) moved to Asheville in 2006. They brought with them their wonderful pets, Cooper (Chocolate Lab) and Monty (‘THE’ cat). Rob is an active member of The Sierra Club, The Appalachian Trail Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy. |
